Episode #18 – Skeleton Olympian – Anna Fernstaedt

In this episode of the Just My Type podcast, co-hosts Sami (type 1) and Dobie (type 2) have the pleasure of welcoming ‘Skeleton Olympian – Anna Fernstaedt’ to discuss her recent diagnosis story and journey skeleton racing in the Olympics. Anna lives in the Czech Republic, much cooler than where Sami and Dobie are from. Sami and Dobie are shocked as they hear about her recent diagnosis, and Anna further discusses how she had to overcome it to perform in one of the most important races of her life. I mean racing down a mountain face down, head first, and thinking about your blood glucose levels cannot be easy, am I right? Tune in to hear more about Anna and her update in managing this newly diagnosed disease. C’est la vie, baby!

Question of the pod: If you could play any Olympic sport, what would it be?
